New private billing fees

Dear Shell Cove Family Health patients,

Please be advised as of 19 June 2017 fees will apply for standard consultations when seeing a GP if you are not on a pension / concession or health care card or if you are 16yrs or over.

Rebates from Medicare are available as a direct deposit into your nominated bank account.  Click here for further details.

This decision has not been easy for us. The Medicare rebate freeze over the past few years has made it increasingly difficult to cover the full cost of providing you with a safe and high quality service while continuing to bulk bill. The fees charged by this practice have to cover our practice costs including employing receptionists, practice nurses and meeting our operating expenses such as rent, medical equipment, electricity, computers and insurance. It is no longer possible for this practice to meet our running costs each year without increasing our fees.

Private billing will be in effect for all appointments from Monday 19th June 2017. Appointments for matters such as care plans or mental health care plans etc. will continue to be bulk billed.

For more information on how this may affect you and possible charges involved please feel free to speak with one of our reception team or practice manager.

If you have extenuating circumstances please discuss these with your doctor.

We thank you for your support and patience and hope that you continue to value the high level of quality care that you receive within our practice.

Yours sincerely,

SCFH practice management.
