BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT

Please note our books are currently closed to new patients

This decision was made to ensure waiting time for our current patients were within a reasonable timeframe. We hope to reopen our books in the near future.

Longer consultations are available if you require additional time with your doctor. Please advise the receptionist when you make your appointment so time allowances can be made.

For urgent consultations, all efforts will be made to schedule these in on the same day, or they will be triaged for emergency treatment elsewhere (i.e. hospital).

If you need to cancel your appointment, please advise reception staff with at least 2 hours notice.

If less than 2 hours notice is given or you miss your appointment, fees will occur.

Our practice provides home and other visits to ensure continuity of care for established patients that cannot physically attend the practice at the discretion of their doctor. Please call the practice on 02 4220 8800 if you wish to discuss home visits.

Our practice also provides home visits for patients 75 years and over for health assessments by a nurse.

FEE INFORMATION

As of the 1st of July 2022, Shell Cove Family Health will be changing it's fee structure. 
A concession rate will apply for pension / concession card holders and patients under the age of 16 years on weekdays.
All other appointments and appointments on Saturdays will attract a private fee which is payable on the day of consultation.

Medicare rebates are available directly after fee payment.

SMS reminders are available to patients at Shell Cove Family Health. Please advise reception staff if you would like to receive SMS reminders when booking your next appointment.

COMMUNICATING WITH US

Our practice reception can be contacted by telephone during operating hours. SCFH endeavours to respond to patient enquiries on the same business day. Patients are able to obtain advice or information related to their care or appointment reminders by electronic means, where the doctor determines that a face-to-face consultation is unnecessary. Electronic communication includes: email, fax, and SMS. Electronic communication will only occur if prior consent has been obtained from patients, due to the possibility of information becoming compromised, and encryption will be used where possible. SCFH aim to respond to emails within three business days of receipt.
